When we allow ourselves the time to connect more deeply, it often takes us on a journey of transformation and empowerment. I combine Somatic Practices and Yoga Therapy, incorporating bodywork, movement, and mindful practices to enhance physical and mental well-being. The Essence of Somatics

Thomas Hanna coined the term "Somatics" from ancient Greek, meaning "the living body in its wholeness." He observed how lifestyle or physical trauma could reshape a person’s movement or posture, potentially leading to Sensorimotor Amnesia (SMA). Over time, compromised movement can result in pain. Hanna's method addresses pain by guiding individuals to move with full awareness, using pandiculation to retrain the body’s nervous system.
"Soma" goes beyond the mechanical meaning of "body"; it represents an organism that is conscious and aware, holding innate wisdom and inner knowing through personal felt experiences. By tuning into these experiences, we can cultivate awareness of our inner landscape, helping us navigate life more meaningfully and healthily. Unlike talking therapies, somatic practices allow the body to communicate through imagery, bodily sensations, and movement impulses. Using these cues, we can regulate the nervous system with kindness and compassion.

Session Structure

I recommend booking five sessions to begin with. The first session is 90 minutes long, followed by one-hour sessions. The extended initial session allows us to discuss your detailed health form, which you will complete and send back before we start. Depending on your needs, we may focus on your posture, habitual movement, and breathing patterns to create a practice tailored for you.

What others have said about their Yoga Therapy experience with me.

In these sessions, I learned, and really began to understand, how breathing properly and differently, can actually help me to achieve more physically. The same is true for relaxing. And I have found that I have incorporated these learnings into all aspects of my daily life, not just my yoga practice.'

'A few days after these sessions finished, I had major back surgery. What I learned from Anna really helped me with my pain management before…and now is helping me tremendously with the long, slow and hard process of recuperation.'

'It helped me to feel a sense of relief and brought me a great feeling of confidence in life.'
'I am very lucky because Anna took care of me with a great sense of empathy, always looking for new ideas to help me feel better, and it is precious to be reminded that those better feelings depend on me...with the tools Anna gave me. I really felt her implication. Anna has a lot of intuition , she guessed my feelings before i expressed them.'

'I felt that it made me breathe better, and feel better mentally and physically'

What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapists prescribe specific regimens of postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit individual needs. Medical research shows that Yoga therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for several common aliments. The challenges may be an illness, a temporary condition like pregnancy or childbirth, or a chronic condition associated with old age or infirmity.
